3. Adding a Modifier to Your Items
Modifiers allow customers to customize products, making them especially relevant for certain types of businesses, such as fast food restaurants or quick-service restaurants (QSRs), where customers often want to add extras or toppings (e.g., adding mushrooms to a pizza). For businesses like clothing stores or other non-food industries, modifiers may not be applicable.
Quick Setup Steps:
1. Access the Modifiers Menu: In the Posterita Back Office, go to the Items Menu and select "Manage Modifiers".
2. Create a New Modifier: Click "Create" to add a new modifier.
- Enter the Modifier Name (e.g., Cheese, Extra Sauce).
- Specify the Selling Price if it applies.Assign the modifier to a relevant Category (e.g., Pizza, Beverages).
3. Save the Modifier: Click "Save" once you've entered the details.
4. Apply the Modifier to Items: When adding or editing an item, select the category you assigned the modifier to. The modifier will then be available as an option during point-of-sale transactions.1. Important Tips:
Relevant to Your Business: Modifiers are most useful for businesses that offer customization, such as fast food restaurants. For example, you could use modifiers to add toppings, adjust portions, or offer extras for food and drinks.
Attach Correct Prices: If modifiers involve additional charges (e.g., extra cheese), make sure to enter the appropriate price.
Not Relevant for All: If your business sells products that do not require customization (e.g., clothing or electronics), then using modifiers is likely unnecessary.
